Having both the design and contracting services simplifies the process with a one-stop-shop for all services. This all inclusive process eliminates disputes between the designer and contractor over design interpretations and the “right” way to build the new space. Including the builder in the design process can also save costs through a more practical approach to the design with an eye on the end construction cost.

Most definitely! At Hive, we specialize in Kitchens and Bathrooms – those technically demanding, high-functioning spaces. Additionally, Manda holds certification through the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

Most often, no less than 3 months before your anticipated project start date for single-space projects (kitchens, bathrooms). If you’re looking towards a larger project with multiple spaces, or whole-home project 6 months in advance is recommended.
This timeframe gives our team time to provide you with the most customized solutions for your home, and allows you the necessary time to fall in love with your new space, and feel comfortable with the decisions involved in your investment.

We play well with others! While the design-build model is our specialty, we do design work, and can supply cabinetry or other materials, for clients who already have an established relationship with a contractor. Project budget is set by the scope of the project labor and the quality of the materials that it takes to complete the job to a high standard of expectation. Once we’ve had a chance to learn more about your project and budget, we will let you know if and why there may be a discrepancy, and let you decide what works best for you.

Similar to project budgets, the size and scope of your project will determine the length of construction. As we chat about your project, we can give you a better idea of how long both the design and construction will take to produce the space you will love!

Hive Design-Build generally takes on jobs within an hour of Spokane, so if you live in one of the near-by areas of Eastern Washington and North Idaho, we’d love to work with you!
