Meet Manda

Owner, Principle Designer, Creative Director

With nearly 20 of experience in the design-build industry, I collaborate with clients and our team to create beautiful, practical homes that often bring happy tears. Since founding Hive in 2019, I've had the pleasure of mentoring SFCC interior design students and continue to evaluate student competitions. My ninja skill is solving the design dilemma through efficient space planning creating an effortless, functional layout.

In my free time, I love getting out in nature; hiking, mountain biking and camping with our 2 school-age children, and exploring our local food scene with Jeff. I hold a BA in Interior Design from Washington State University, along with NKBA certification.

Kristin Bennett

Senior Interior Designer / Project Coordinator

After a career as a dental hygienist, Kristin shifted gears and pursued a long held passion—interior design. Graduating from design school, she’s discovered that creating beautiful spaces is even more satisfying than perfecting smiles. As a serial remodeler alongside her husband, she has transformed numerous homes and manages several rental properties with an eye for both style and functionality. When she’s not designing or remodeling, Kristin enjoys taking her dog for walks, traveling, and roller skating. As an almost empty-nester, she’s savoring this exciting new chapter of creativity and adventure.

Marissa Sannes

Interior Designer

Inspired by her lifelong love of creativity and nature, Marissa earned her associate degree in interior design and is now pursuing her bachelor's degree with a focus on sustainable design. Outside of work, she enjoys paddleboarding, hiking, and growing her vinyl collection. Her favorite local restaurant is Ferguson's Café, and she's especially drawn to thoughtful details like built-in niches and recessed shelving. Marissa loves every part of the design process, from developing the initial vision to watching each detail come together and bring a space to life. She was drawn to HIVE by the team's thoughtful approach to design and commitment to quality.

Ulisses Jimenez

Craftsman

Outside of work, Ulisses enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active, and taking his dog on walks. He's known for keeping things lighthearted and bringing plenty of laughs to the team, and if he's grabbing a bite around Spokane, you'll probably find him at Izumi's Asian Bistro. He's especially drawn to clean, modern details like floating shelves, flush baseboards, and integrated LED lighting. Ulisses enjoys the opportunity to solve new challenges each day while continually building his skills and craftsmanship. HIVE's collaborative environment and dedication to quality made it the ideal place to continue growing his career.

James Bouma

craftsman

Originally from Iowa, James grew up farming before discovering his passion for carpentry. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and woodworking whenever he gets the chance. His favorite local restaurant is Embers by the Lake, and he's especially drawn to timeless home features like paneled appliances and sliding barn doors. Out of all the projects he has worked on so far, Edencrest has been his favorite. Especially because of the craftsmanship and attention to detail in the space. James enjoys watching projects take shape and takes pride in creating spaces that clients will enjoy for years to come. The variety of projects and HIVE's dedication to quality craftsmanship made joining the team an easy decision.

Matt Bogyo

craftsman

When Matt isn't on the jobsite, you'll likely find him golfing, fishing, reading, or lifting weights. He's also earned an unofficial reputation for being a cat magnet, as most cats he meets seem to like him. His favorite local restaurant is Italian Trattoria, and one home feature he appreciates is a central vacuum system. Matt enjoys seeing a space completely transform and takes pride in the craftsmanship and skill that goes into every project. One of his favorite HIVE projects has been Rosamond, where great clients and challenging trim work made the experience especially rewarding. After seeing HIVE's quality of work and outstanding reputation, he knew it was the kind of team he wanted to be part of.

Ty Jackson

craftsman

Ty grew up working construction alongside his dad, which sparked his passion for building from an early age. Outside of work, he enjoys jiu-jitsu, blacksmithing, camping, and hand-forging knives and swords. His favorite local restaurant is Wild Sage Bistro, and he appreciates the openness and functionality of an open-concept kitchen. Ty loves the artistic side of his career, from creating unique spaces to helping turn a client's dream kitchen or bathroom into a reality. When he decided to return to carpentry, HIVE's commitment to quality craftsmanship and artistry made it the perfect place to continue his career.
